About the Business

Civic Design+Build was founded in 1995 as ‘Civic Construction’ by Kevin Edge, a local builder who saw a gap in the market for a professional design and build company in Hertfordshire. Starting out small, designing and building one home at a time, Civic has since established itself as one of Hertfordshire’s most respected ‘Design+Build’ companies. Civic helps local people turn their house into a home. Let us create the living space for your lifestyle.

Business Services

Loft Conversions

Often the best answer to a need for more space for a growing family or home office – especially when retaining garden space is a priority. Civic have undertaken loft conversions in many different house types; they are adept at maximising the space gained and creating stunning new rooms for you to enjoy.

New Build

With our experience and track record you can be sure of Civic’s ability to run a successful new build project. Covering every aspect of creating a new-build home – including imaginative design, local authority approvals, impeccable standards of construction and professional project management – Civic’s comprehensive approach meets every client’s needs.

Home Extensions

You like where you live – the house, the location, the neighbours – but need more space. Or you find the ideal new home but it’s not quite big enough. An extension designed and built by Civic – perhaps coupled with internal re-modelling to make the most of the available space – is the answer.
