Before setting up Liston Architects in 2010, multilingual Scottish Architect, David Liston worked in offices in Berlin, Venice and Edinburgh. Having studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Grenoble, he trained as an Architect (part 1 and 2) at the University of Bath which also included a stage at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia.

Returning to his home town, he gained architectural professional qualification (part 3) in 2000 at the University of Edinburgh.
